Dry biltong is air-dried rather than cooked and is made with a simple traditional South African spice blend. Because it is dried for longer it has even less moisture per gram meaning more concentrated protein in every bite compared to most commercial beef jerky brands.
How is biltong different from droëwors?
biltong is made from whole muscle beef cuts that are marinated, spiced and air-dried. Droëwors is a traditional South African dried sausage made from spiced beef mince in a natural casing. Both are South African classics but they have a completely different texture, shape and flavour profile.
